Heidelberg 12 August 2023. In June this year, I was honoured to deliver the APACRS LIM Lecture at the 35th annual APACRS meeting held in Singapore.
The lecture is named after Arthur Lim (1934-2014), the father of ophthalmology in Singapore, founding medical director of the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC). He also helped establish the Singapore Eye Research Institute and the Singapore National University Hospital’s ophthalmology department. Among his contributions are more than 20 books, including his ophthalmology atlas, which provides a comprehensive guide to eye diseases. He was active in research, education and philanthropic surgery.
In my lecture, I aimed to provide an up-to-date account of the current situation in intraocular implants and future developments with new materials.
I am grateful to Ronald Yeoh, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the APACRS, for agreeing to make the 2023 APACRS LIM Lecture available to a broader audience, via the following link.
I hope you will enjoy this lecture.
