Congratulations Max!

Heidelberg, 26 November 2020. We are glad to share the news that Maximilian Hammer, a research student working in our team at the David J Apple Lab, has won the 2020 MLP Medical Excellence Scholarship in the category “Science”.

For international readers, MLP is well known in Germany as a finance institute for medical professionals. The private scholarship endowed with 4000 euros is annually awarded to medical students all over Germany with outstanding performance in either “Science”, “Studies” or “Social” categories.

Max

Max began his medical studies at Heidelberg University in 2016. Since then, he conducted research in the field ofneuroscience at Heidelberg University as well as in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Harvard Medical School, before discovering his passion for vision research. Max quickly became an important part of the research groupafter joining the David J Apple Lab earlier this year. He is currently mainly working on projects on the emulsification of silicone oils used as intraocular endotamponades.
